Chapter 1 by Caesarius Caesarius

It's one of those days. You know the ones, where the sky is just overcast enough to let in some light, but somehow it feels like there's a grey tint to everything? The days when you walk around with a knot in the pit of your stomach, where it feels like everything's on edge, like the whole world is full of tension, ready to pop? Ya, one of those days.

But even with these days, we keep on keeping on. That's been your motto for most of your life, and it hasn't been easy. Your dad died in an accident at work when you and your sister, Regan were just kids, and your mom passed away shortly after you turned 18. So it's just been you and Regan for the past 3 years. You worked various jobs to make sure the both of you could go to a decent college when Regan graduated high school, and through that hard work, you pulled it off.

You and Regan are on your way now, you packed up your important belongings, found a family to rent your parent's house out to for an income, and hopped on the train to your future. And of course, on such an important and uplifting day, it's one of those days.

You look at Regan, "Feeling excited?"
She smiles back at you. "What do you think? It's finally happening. We get to leave behind everything and really, really start fresh!"

The morning commuters around you smile and softly avert their eyes as Regan clings to you. You smile yourself and put your arm around her, feeling good despite the gray day.

You get to the train platform.
