Naruto: Love Potion

It was a typical day in Konoha but for Naruto, this was his last day before he'd leave for training with Jiraiya, and while he was more than ready to head out on that adventure, there was still one last thing he wanted to do before he left. Sakura had been the apple of his eye for as long as he could remember and now before he'd be going away for a long time he wanted to try one last time to win her over. And today he felt especially confident.

The previous week when he had been walking home he bumped into a mysterious old woman and she had given him a small vial with a pink liquid inside. She promised him that whoever drank the liquid would fall madly in love with the first person they saw, and that while it was only temporary it was overwhelmingly powerful.

Normally Naruto would've been against using something like this but, she had said the effects were temporary; this might very well be his ticket to Sakura's heart.

He had it all planned out: he'd meet her to say goodbye and she would be so caught up in the emotion of the moment she'd agree to just a quick date with him, they'd go get ramen and he'd slip her the potion, make sure she was looking at him while he drank it, let the potion do its magic and maybe she'd give him a kiss! Then even though he had to go away, she'd remember and cherish that last meeting so much that by time he returned she would have fallen in love with him for real.

To him this plan was flawless and not at all contrived.

Naruto smiled, envisioning what today might bring as he grabbed the vial before bolting out the door, down the stairs, and onto the street
