You never actually forgot these last words of your mother. After this, she died, and you left home to join the Order of the Knights. You never really understood what she meant. She didn't like your plans to become a knight, she always thought you were meant for something greater. But what could that possibly be? What is greater than being a Knight of Amra? It makes you sad that she would not be proud of you now. You are completing your first mission which makes you a real knight at last, and it was not even difficult.

You cross the forest with all these thoughts in your head, as an unwashed man in filthy clothes suddenly jumps out of the woods.

He is an ugly fellow with matted hair, rotten teeth, and a smell barely bearable even from ten feet away. He grins at you, his hand near his sword belt.

"What a lovely day me Lady, what brings you to my forest. "

"It's the king's forest," you answer without hesitation, and he starts to laugh loud in a high, annoying pitch.

"Is that so, my love? But as you can see, your King is not around. Which means, for now, the forest is mine!"

"Let me through" you demand. He begins to unnerve you.

"Of course my princess, but first you have to pay 50 silver. I am sorry, but that's the price."

It's ridiculous, and you don't have this amount of money. You bet he knows that.
