Being a Summoner wasn't all it was cracked up to be. In fact, a choice is rarely given to the Summoner in question. Usually one of great potential and ability to access the Summoner Secrets sets their fate in stone. They are to exist within the boundaries of the League's walls, secluded from the rest of existence. It normally results in empty shells of people, roaming idle until a battle arises for them to take control of one of the League's combatants.

The reason an individual gives their will to the Summoner's is unknown until their first connection. Then, the Summoner is able to tap into their mind as if it were their own. Then, they are able to learn and inherit whatever the Champion in question knows or has mastered... though a few connections may be required for amateurs. It sounds chilling, but it's nothing out of the norm for the powerful mages of League.

And you, are one such powerful mage...

It just wasn't enough for you. Your potential, your power... it wasn't quenched easily through mindless battles that never reached resolution by the end. It was the same cycle each day, having to deal with people unable to comprehend your superiority. Not that it mattered. The rest of the sorry sods were trapped there with you in a horridly pathetic fate. To play the strings that the great unknown sought of you until the end of time. That was the biggest secret of all... but you had known long before you reached of age.

Summoners were nothing but glorified prisoners, unable to wreck havoc on the sacred lands of Runeterra.

At least, that is the conclusion you've cooked up. Not that it mattered... nothing would change.

It wasn't as though you didn't have your fun despite it all. Taking control of the whims and wills of certain Champions wasn't just an epic feat, but one that allowed your whims, your wills. Their power, their abilities, their bodies...

They were yours.
