When Jerry woke up it felt like any other Saturday. He stayed in bed until 10AM, took a leisurely shower, poured himself a bowl of Sugar Puffs and turned on his computer. As he silently shoveled food into his mouth he browsed his various social media sites. He liberally would throw likes at any meme that made him smile and scrolled past the political, religious and corporate garbage that cluttered his feed.
As he made a half-hearted attempt to clean up his breakfast he heard the rumbling of thunder from outside. The morning sky was a pale grey and the pouring rain obscured the view of his suburban neighborhood through the kitchen window. Jerry briefly recalled his mother warning him many years ago that you should turn off all electronic devices during a thunderstorm to prevent power surges. His mom though, had never played Forever Fantasy 30.
Jerry eyed his Play Station 4, the memory of his mother's warning still echoing in his head.
