Adventures in Eroquestria

Rarity and Rainbow in an Erotic D&D-esque Version of Equestria

Chapter 1 by dracone dracone

“Was the experience really that bad, Twilight?” Rainbow asked with amusement, “because it sounds to me like you were pretty close to being in paradise to me, even if the country was broken into territories controlled by dragons.”

“I see you weren’t paying attention when I said the whole part about slavery and being a ,” said Twilight with exasperation, “the owning of another sapient being is ethically, morally, and intellectually wrong, and it is an excellent thing that we have legal statutes in place that say such things are illegal as well.”

“Oh, yikes,” said Rainbow, “sorry, I just thought the Colosseum thing you mentioned would be cool, I guess I blocked everything you said after describing that facility. I guess I got caught up in thinking of how I could design something for any pony, or creature, to go if they want to scrap or see combatants scrapping.”

“I understand Rainbow, and you need to work on paying attention, you already are pretty perceptive, you just need to work on actually listening to others when they’re talking, not latching onto one thing partway through the conversation and checking out. Given your profession, I would have thought that would have been phased out of your habits by now.”

“It’s a work in progress,” said Rainbow sheepishly as she made a show of scratching the back of her head with her left hand. “So, did your little extra-dimensional excursion give you any ideas on how we could travel to other realities a bit more safely?”

“Not yet, said Twilight with an exasperated sigh, “I’ll let you know if anything changes, especially since you were the first to volunteer for testing that sort of thing.”

“Cool, don’t forget the game starts in two days.”

“Thanks for the reminder, Rainbow, I’ll be there, I have a host of reminders all over the castle.”

“Good, because we’re having it…”

“In Conference Hall 5 while the guys are having their game at Mac’s house that’s on the other end of Sweet Apple Acres,” Twilight as she cut off Rainbow, “I know; I’m one of the ponies that made the arrangements. Now, you better head out. Didn’t you say had some business to attend to today?”

“Oh right, thanks, Twi; see ya at the game.” With that, Rainbow was out the door.

After Rainbow had been gone for a few minutes, Twilight headed up to her room and pulled up the robe she was wearing to reveal nothing underneath as she used her magic to lock the door to the room. “I guess me getting excited about not wearing undergarments is part of the side effects of extended time in the body of the other me,” Said Twilight to herself as she just tossed a new robe on over her birthday suit, “and I don’t even know if I should complain about it or not.” A flash of the older version of Spike she had witnessed, with no attire, flashed through her head for an instant, “no, just no, even if I did have that sort of craving, which I don’t, Spike is far too young for that sort of relationship. Besides, he’s like a little brother to me; any sexual relationships would practically be incestuous.”

After getting changed, and still going without underwear, Twilight returned to her technologies lab. A lab where the now deactivate beacon that had gotten her and Pinkie home now sat. Twilight was hard at work on devices that were meant to be worn and help zero in on anyone who goes through some means and finds themself in an alternate universe, by transmitting to the beacon the interdimensional signal about where the beacon needs to direct itself so that retrieval would be far faster and hopefully less problematic.

Day of the game

“Twilight, it wasn’t what we discussed,” said Rarity, “granted it was a pretty quick fix but still a bit of a surprise.”

“You were right, Rarity,” said Twilight as she greeted the white mare at the doors to the conference room. “I needed to make an effort to get outside my comfort zone, so changing to a Nature priestess was a much better option, plus it offers up some more interesting thematic stuff and roleplaying options. Any word on AJ’s character info?”

“Yes, she’s going with the Drunken Master variant.”

“Considering the kinds of hard cider Sweet Apple Acres makes, it seems pretty on point for her; I’m just glad she’s not playing a Paladin again. So, what’s this I hear about using me as the subject of a bet?”

Rarity gave a nervous laugh before saying, “Rainbow had the idea of everyone but you making bets on how long into the campaign it would take you to start writing an academic essay on the differences between arcane and divine casters, whoever is closest with their bet gets to decide your character’s class for the next campaign.”

“Well, since it’s all in good fun, and possibly with the intent of helping me get out of my comfort zone in potentially interesting ways, I’m in for the fun, I’ll abstain from the betting pool, for obvious reasons, but I get to decide the variant of the class the winner chooses for me.”

“I think we can make that work.”

Sometime later the rest of the players started filing in and Twilight met them all, Ember’s armor was almost a concern to the ponies around the table (a bit too form-fitting in the opinion of half the group and a little too gaudy with how it was gold with silver and bronze highlights that bordered on accentuating the dragoness’s figure in potentially provocative ways while still projecting might somehow). Pinkie’s Bard outfit wasn’t better in Rarity’s opinion, mostly because of how loud and flashy the colors of the outfit were.

Sugar Belle was in a large robe with a hood that almost obscured her face. “Greetings Adventurers, and welcome to the beginnings of your campaign,” she said with a long drawn out voice she thought was dramatic but just came off as a funny kind of serious.

Ember smirked, and Applejack, who was dressed in monk robes with the image of a barrel that held her cutie mark on it upon her chest, did her best to hold back a laugh before profusely apologizing.

“Oh, before we get any further, I want everyone here to put these on,” said Twilight as she brought up a case with her little project in them, “there’s more than enough for everyone, be sure to make sure they’re secured. After the...incident Pinkie and I had, I decided to whip up a few safeguards to put everyone’s mind at ease; these are my first attempt; they should work, just strap them to your wrist and make sure they’re secure.”

“What are they supposed to do exactly,” Ember inquired as she took one slapped it on, and made a show of having difficulty securing it.

“Somethin’ ta ‘elp find us ef we ever end up in similar situation ta Twi and Pinkie from tha’ firs’ time, Ah reckon,” said Applejack as she secured her own.

“Well, at least they’re stylish, and compliment my outfit this time around,” said Rarity as she admired her unit, “Twilight usually has trouble with making items with an appealing form.”

“They’re so compact, I doubt this thing will have much impact on my flying,” said Rainbow as she looked over her newly secured device. “What ya call these things?”

“Transdimensional Identification Locator Bands,” said Twilight with a hint of pride.

“TILB sounds like it might be something related to farming, honestly,” said Rainbow.

“Ah have ta admit, Tild does soun’ similar ta tilled,” said Applejack.

“Okay, I get it, I need a better name for the bands,” said Twilight with a hint of annoyance, “I’ll put it to committee for what their new name should be when I get to working on the newer versions, but these are just prototypes right now, I don’t know how effective they really are. Not to mention, I’m really hoping we don’t end up having to test them in a potential emergency.”

“Well, always better safe than sorry,” said Rarity. “I’m glad your dreadful experience has you working on something to minimize the damage should something similar happen at some point.”

“How are those side effects,” asked Rainbow Dash.

“Still dealing with them,” said Twilight, “now, let’s get to the game, shall we?”

“Oh, yeah, I heard about your little trip to another reality,” said Ember, “what is that place like?”

“What should have been Equestria was divided up into territories ruled over by dragons; Spike was the Dragonlord in that world,” said Pinkie, addressing Ember specifically, “and you were ruling over the area that is the Crystal Empire.”

“Oh, that sounds interesting but not all too fun,” said Ember as she rubbed the back of her head with her right hand, “regardless I’ll have the Dragon Lands have our magic specialists look into that sort of thing, at the very least we should have some idea of potentially hostile worlds seeking to do something to our world.”

“Speaking of,” said Sugar Belle, returning everyone’s attention to the game at the table, “you are in the world of Trotsiltek, in the nation of Gemrias. You all are in a tavern within the small town of Pearl Reach, one of the nation’s more prosperous coastal communities; each of you is doing various things; how about you give a description of your character and what they are doing during this early portion.”

After the character introductions had been completed and the adventure had officially started, the game went on for two hours or so before it was decided they would take a short fifteen to twenty-minute break.

“So, Twilight,” said Rarity as she and Rainbow met up with Twilight for a private conversation, “how do we switch on the bands?”

“You tap the top twice or just put your hand over it and slide it under your hand a bit,” said Twilight informatively, “it’s designed that way so that if your alternate does end up in your body, like what happened with Pinkie and myself, their own acts of curiosity will trigger it and the alert I put on the beacon device will alert all the other band users in range so that we can turn it on as soon as possible. Your bands automatically registered your native magic signatures the moment you put them on and secured them.”

Rainbow and Rarity then followed up this by tapping the top of their bands twice, “I think that we should at least have a few active to make sure your alert system is working properly,” said Rainbow. “Besides two to five active bands might earn you some potentially useful data.”

“Thanks, you two, I’ll just go check on some things and be right back,” said Twilight.

After Twilight headed off, Rainbow and Rarity headed down to the kitchen to grab a snack, while on the way there they ran into Spike. “I thought you were at Sweet Apple Acres,” said Rarity when they saw the young drake.

“We were; until some of the guys decided to take their roleplaying a little too far and broke the table and a few walls,” said Spike with annoyance, “I’m just here to whip up some quick snacks for the guys while the ones responsible work on patching up the wall until a licensed contractor can come by to do a proper job fixing it, we’ll be making those responsible pay the bill, we also have them purchasing a new table under Mac’s supervision.”

“Yikes,” said Rainbow, “we’re on a break ourselves; maybe you should pass along a message to Sugar Belle and work a few things out while you’re here, and before you get on those snacks.”

“Yeah, that sounds like a good idea,” said Spike, “what room is it happening in again?”

This was an immediate flag for Rarity; she knew quite well Spike’s notes wouldn’t allow for him to be asking anypony something like this; he would have just reached into his pocket and pulled out his notebook, and asked for confirmation. “Thorax, I thought we were in agreement about these sorts of things.”

“Alright, fine,” came Thorax’s voice from Spike before returning to his usual look, only in what looked like some kind of stone armor. The flames of his transformation magic coming close to the bands on the arms of the two mares, shortly but quickly sending a surge of magic through them.

“We’re going to have to report this, you kn…” Rarity was cut off as she and Rainbow went blank and just fell over in a frozen state.

Thorax, thinking that it was a result of his infiltration/joke gone too far, pulled out a crystal carved to look like a pony’s ear and started frantically rambling into it about what just happened.
