A 21st Century Harem

It was a stormy Saturday evening. You were enjoying a nice cup of tea to the sound of raindrops on the windows of your mansion. The mansion was located in a wealthy area of the city, and was surrounded by other mansions of similar grandness. It had belonged to your grandfather, who had earned his way to the top through the mafia. While that connection was now in the past, shying away from an honest pay seemed to run in the family. On top of being quite the computer nerd, you were also a bit of a criminal.

You had moved in with your girlfriend and her sister almost 6 years ago. Since then you had upgraded the house with some technological breakthroughs, some of which you had come up with yourself. The house had a full invisible camera setup and you had created and installed an AI assistant. Your own Electronic Virtual Assistant, or E.V.A. for short.
E.V.A. ensured that the many cameras around the house were always being watched, and that the weapons were ready to fire any intruders. Maybe you were paranoid, but you preferred the term cautious.

"I'm sorry to interrupt your evening, sir." a sourceless but passionate voice says. You can't help but smile, proud of your accomplishments with Eva. That smile soon faded again however as Eva continued her briefing. "I would like to bring to your attention that the absence of Miss Victoria and Miss Charlotte is worrying when taking into account the recent disappearances of young women in the area. I've managed to link the disappearances of at least 24 young women to the Pachinko family."

The Pachinko family ran the mafia, and had a history of choosing over diplomacy. "I'm going to need a detailed report on these disappearances and your findings. Are their trackers still functioning?" you ask your assistant. If the mafia was involved, this was about to get messy.

"Negative. I am not picking up any signals from either of the trackers." Eva responds. You curse to yourself and stand up to walk around the room. If the Pachinkos did actually abduct the girls, they would probably use Victoria and her sister to extort you. Maybe even bait you into a trap. But that was probably one of the better outcomes. The Pachinkos were just as likely to do much worse.

"Eva, give me a report of possible scenarios and the most effective way to act." you command her. You sit back in your chair, waiting for Eva to finish running the simulations. You run a hand along your chin.

"I have simulated 512 possible scenarios. The solution to the majority of these situations is to stay at home and wait for Miss Victoria and Miss Cassandra to return; or alternatively for a message to be received about their situation. Leaving the house is not recommended." Eva informs you. You frown as you think about these options. You want to go out and look for the girls, but Eva is right. Looking for the girls in this weather and this late at night would be a waste of time.

"Thank you, Eva. I will stay here. Keep me informed about any messages or signals you receive." you tell her before finishing your tea. You leave the living room and head upstairs to your work chamber. You needed something to keep your mind off the situation.

You sit down at your desk and boot up your PC. The 6 monitors that you had set up turned on and continued where you had left off last time, showing you the information you had gathered. One monitor showed a new report from Eva about the disappearances, just like you had asked her to do. You grab the report and start reading it.
