towards the swamp

After hearing horror stories of how countless travelers had headed through the swamp never to be heard from again, your confidence has you believing you can make it through and plunder the corpses, if there are any.

Your trek quickly becomes difficult to navigate as boots are constantly getting stuck in the mire. The fog having obscured your vision and proving and impossible task to see if there is solid land to rest on. Your shirt has become pasted to your chest with sweat and mud, your pants have been glued to your legs.

Darkness begins to fall as you struggle on, you begin to feel faint whisper of worry as to where you might be able to rest and grab something to eat and sleep.

As the twilight grows heavier, you begin to notice a glow beginning to form in the fog, seeming distant, the ground beginning to grow slightly more solid.
