You noticed a canyon going up to the volcano, but the water was too shallow for your boat and given what lurks in the waters of this world it seemed safer to go through the woods.

The plant life on this world was like nothing you ever saw. The most wilderness you ever witnessed were the very tidy parks at the capital on Ophidia, totally artificial and lost in the center of a city that stretched to the horizon.

Here the trees were the size of buildings, vines and other plants growing on them, strange mushrooms and flowers of every color grew everywhere and sprouts and fruit were visible even on the massive roots that often blocked your way.

As you got closer, your scanner picks up the faint energy signature of the ship, at least it didn't blew up. All that was left to find out was how damaged it was and how much of its crew, if any, survived.

Twice, you and Alice had to shoot at some huge spiders that tried to eat both of you but those seemed to lurk in the shadows, as long aw you stayed in the light (or the night didn't fall) they would leave you alone.

In the next clearing you found something. A huge dead beast, much of its flesh and skin missing, not torn out by the claws or fangs of an animal but cut with a very sharp blade.

Either there were survivors of the crash hunting or there were threats greater than simple savage beasts on this island. Either way, this seemed like a good lead so you followed the tracks leaving the clearing towards the mountain (ok, Alice followed the tracks, you only saw dirt and mud, like everywere in these damn woods.) and finally arrived to some open place.

On the side of the smoking mountain were a series of pools filled with bubbling waters. As you approached them and heard human voices and laughter.
