Hallie tries to be a good person

“I need to check for blood. So If I am gentle with you, do you promise not to eat me?”

The wolf put her head down on the ground, allowing Hallie to check her over. Gently she began to check for broken bones on the legs and then the back running her hand over a surprisingly soft fur.

When she reached the wolf's neck, she felt something, she was not expecting to find. She reached around the leather collar until she felt the clasp and took it off the animal.

The wolf didn't seem hert, she must be stunned and someone's pet from the looks of the collar. She filled it over and examined the cooler, a beautiful leather collar with the word ‘Beta’ inscribed into it.

“It makes sense, after all the owner would want to be the alpha of the group, that would make you Beta.” She gently rubbed the wolf’s head. “It is a pleasure to meet you.”

The wolf didn't move, her yellow eyes seemed to glow in the moonlight. Hallie felt the intensity of the stare, but did nothing to get away from it.

“Try it on.” Hallie heard a strange voice in her head. She looked down at the collar and then to the wolf and back to the collar again.

“Your pack is calling for you. Put it on.”

“My pack?” Hallie seemed confused as to the meaning of her own thoughts. But she found herself raising the leather collar closer to her throat.

“We are here for you.”

Hallie felt the voice was coming from he wolf in front of her. But that was ridiculous, the wolf could not speak English to her. But the way she looked at her, made her second guess herself.

She felt the collar clasp lock together and then the world started to spin and she passed out on the side of the road.
