Chapter 4 by sindermann sindermann

what IS up?

bloody nails

"Tara...Don't come out..." It was Dad's voice. I got really nervous. He sounded hurt, like he had maybe broken something. It was then that I noticed the thin trails of blood leaking in from under the door. Streaks ran along the lines between tiles, pooling up and overflowing. I heard something heavy hit the door, and the sound of something sliding down it.

Daddy?" I asked nervously. I got out of the tub, and wrapped a towel around myself. I put my ear to the door, and heard what sounded like chewing... Suddenly, a loud thud hit the door. I backed up, shivering. Thud. Thud. Thud. It sounded like something was groaning out there... Thud. Thud. Thud. I noticed that there were nails sticking through the door. Small trickles of blood dripped from the nail holes, running down the panels. I heard more movement outside. It sounded like people were walking around out there, chewing on something and just groaning...

I looked around the bathroom. I pulled my panties on and through on one of my dad's sleeping shirts. It was a big "man's" shirt, you know, the kind with the pocket, a hole near the collar, and a few spots of paint on it. The only weapon I could find was a curling iron. I grabbed my straight razor in one hand, the curling iron in the other, and approached the door.

I peaked through the keyhole. There were people, bloody people, shuffling around out there. It looked like a bus had turned over, and they all came in our house. Then, I heard a tearing sound. One of them reared up, right in front of me. He had what looked like a bloody cheek with three day stubble on it clenched in his teeth. His eyes were empty, lifeless grayish blue, and a huge hole was in his neck. I screamed, and skittered backwards to the far corner of the bathroom. I cried for a long time as they kept pounding on the door...
