What's the case? Business? Pleasure?
a warm chat
Her chesty mother smiled widely as she offered Shiro a seat and she took it. "I wanted to see my girl again. Is that so uncommon among parents?"
"No," Shiro admitted. "But they rarely employ prostitutes to find them."
Her mother laughed. Torako, she was known to others, and she enjoyed her employees at the whorehouse calling her mother sometimes, but she enjoyed being the only one the powerful ronin would call mommy.
A new girl came in, quickly dropping off a kettle and two cups. Torako took it and poured, offering a cup to her daughter. She nodded and drank it.
"So how have things been?" Torako asked kindly.
"I've been killing people," Shiro said grimly.
"Ah good. That means money's doing fine," Torako smiled, and Shiro gave a small chuckle. She loosened up a bit as they talked.
"How is father?"
"Couldn't say? Left him ages ago for 'the business."
Shiro nodded perhaps a bit sloppier than she'd intended. Perhaps it was her mother's comforting presence. Maybe it was the **** in the tea to make her loosen up, let her mother REALLY acquaint herself with her long-missing daughter. Or maybe just to loosen her tongue a bit for conversation's sake.
Which is it?
