Your partner arrives

You are sitting at your desk looking over your work when a voice suddenly breaks you from your focus.

"Damn, here I was hoping that I had more time away from you," the voice jokes. You look up and see the sight that has taken your breath away so many times. Your partner, Bridgette Unger, stands over your desk. You met her in the academy and quickly became great friends with her. You know that you should be used to her looks by now, but it seems like everytime you look at her, she looks even better than she did before.

Unger was of Scandinavian descent, and it showed. She was a 6-foot-tall blonde haired, blue eyed beauty. You would never believe she was a police officer if you hadn't seen her in action, she was a badass on the job and you've seen her take down guys three times her weight. You had a huge crush on her from the second you laid eyes on her, and you had previously regretted that you were strictly in a professional relationship. When you met Katherine, however, you felt glad that nothing happened between you and your partner. You are now with the love of your life and couldn't be happier.

There was no denying Bridgette's looks, however, and you can't help but feel attracted to her. You remember Katherine was very insecure about your relationship with her when you first started going out, but you convinced her that you were simply work partners, nothing else.

"Aww, you didn't miss me?"

"Of course I missed you, James. How was the honeymoon?"

"Amazing. Just wish it hadn't ended."

"Really? Normally men can't wait to stop fucking their new wives nonstop in exotic places and get right back to work." You've gotten used to your partner's sarcastic wit, so you simply roll your eyes in response. "How's Katherine?"

"She's great, I'm sure she's glad to get some time apart from me after we never left each other's side for a week," you answer.

"That's true, you are pretty annoying," Bridgette chuckles.

"There's something we both have in common then." You enjoyed your banter with Bridgette. She was so professional in the the field, and if you didn't know her, you would never guess her actual personality. You're glad that you are one of the lucky ones to get to know the real Bridgette Unger, and she has become one of the best friends you have ever had as a result. Your partner takes a seat at the desk across from yours and you turn your attention back to your work.
