...your connections. Let's face it, you're not the strongest, smartest, or prettiest girl in the world. You never really cared much for all those things anyway, but this modern age isn't about what you can do, it's about who you know. You have several contacts who can help you with your investigations, people who can pull strings and allow you to do things you could never do on your own. You're not weak, or dumb, or ugly by any means, three facts your boss reminds you of daily with his demands, deadlines, and...compliments, but it's the connections you've created through your work on the paper that have really lifted you up in life and that's what will determine success of failure here.

You have several people you can contact for help. People who can get you private meetings, or a tour of the building. People who can put you on a list or take you off a list, even people who can get you out of trouble with the law if it comes to that. There isn't really a limit on what you can do with powerful people at your beck and call, but there is a limit as to how much they would be willing to put out their necks for you. You might be able to get 5 solid "favors" fulfilled before this is over, but the problem with not doing it yourself means you'd be relying on people who aren't as impassioned about this case as you are. If things get too messy or risky, they'll walk away leaving you with nothing, and there's only so much you can ask for before you start getting rejected. You'll have to use your connections wisely, but at least now you know where you stand and can start working on this investigation. Speaking of which...
