You see Kat’s boyfriend

As soon as you step out of the door, you see a young man putting on his coat in the living room.

"Ah, hey, John," he murmurs, smiling.

"Hey, Alex," You answer. He's Kat's boyfriend. He's a bit pudgy and baby-faced, can't quite hold a job, and you're not even sure if he still goes to your school so you have no idea what Kat sees in him.

"Imma head out; got an appointment I can't afford to miss," he said. "Take care of my girl for me?"

He clearly meant it as a joke, but you have other thoughts already forming in your mind.

"Sure," you smile as he heads out the door.
