You say yes

“Yes,” you blurt out without even giving it another thought. “I want to learn how to control myself.”

Marvelous, let me get some student guides for you. I have asked two of our senior students to show you to your room and tell you a little more about the school. Girls, come on in.” You turn and look and see two plain looking blonds come into the room. One girl was a little chunky and had thin greasy hair, the other was real thin, almost boy like. The weird thing is you realize that they are wearing the same clothes as Jen and Kelsey the two girls you met in the bathroom. What the hell is going on here you wonder to yourself.

The dean was speaking again, “Here are Jen,” the thin girl, “and Kelsey” the chunky girl. They are both seniors and will show you to your room and get you oriented as to where things are at on campus. They will also explain the basic rules to you, and how you may interact with the outside world while you are here at MTU.

“But I just met them and they did not look like that,” you stammer out trying to understand.

Kelsey sneers at you and says, “Get a clue newbie, and remember where you are. Reality can be manipulated any way I want it to be. I am an expert at making people see what they want to see and you fell for it. We were working on our senior project and you say part of it. Try not to be so stupid in the future.”

You face burns red as you realize that you have to really have to watch yourself. You may have potential ability, but everyone around you is more powerful than you are right now. Jen rescues you from your embarrassment, “Don’t mind her she is just a bitch when she has to act all girly, girl. She likes her usual dyke persona better.”

You said a quick goodbye to your Uncie and headed off with the two girls. Jen did most of the talking as Kelsey was sullen and walked along behind you and Jen. After about a half an hour of whirlwind tour of the campus Jen and Kelsey took you up to your room. As you opened the door to the room you saw that your luggage had been brought to the room. You also saw that you had a room mate.

“Robin, this is Carrie,” you hear Jen say introducing you to your new room mate whom you now know as Robin. She is a small mousy looking girl with very thick glasses and a pinched looking face. She is shorter than you; with baggy clothes that hide her non-descript body. She is not pretty, but she is not ugly either. She just does not project herself at all. She is also painfully shy as she hardly looks you in the eye when you shake her hand.

“Well we are going to leave you two to get acquainted,” Jen says as the two older girls take off.

You spend the rest of the evening unpacking and trying to get to know you roommate. It is not an easy thing to do as she gives only monosyllabic answers to your questions but you learn that she is a year ahead of you in school, that she is an only child, and that she is at the school due to her ability to change herself her looks and such. She is learning to control that ability slowly increasing her powers as she goes.

This last bit of information catches your attention and you say, “You know they say that is a power that I have also. Maybe you could show me some things when the time is right?”

She answers you, “Umm, maybe. Look I really need to study tonight. I am working on something big and I need to focus. I would appreciate some quiet.”

“Fine,” you answer kind of coldly, put off by your roommate’s social inabilities.
