You prefer to sneak

Right when your shoe hits the ground, you notice a movement to your right. Instantly you're back behind your shelf, your heart racing like it never did before. Carefully you peek around the shelf to see what startled you. That was just a guy picking up another magazine? I'm scared of that? Fuck, what's wrong with me?

You take a few seconds to calm down again._ How do I do this? _You look around the other side of the shelf. This aisle and the one behind it are empty. _I can't just stand here forever. _You step into the aisle and follow it step by step, but with every step towards the end your heart beats faster. When you finally reach the end, you peek around the shelves again. Aside from a quick glance on somebody entering an aisle two rows to your right, you can't see anyone. You cross the corridor with a short sprint into the next isle. You follow it as cautiously as the last one until you reach the end. You're now in front of the corridor next to the back wall of the store. The door is a few steps to your left, but the man that startled you before might still be there. After checking that nobody can see you, you slowly glide into the corridor and behind the shelf.

It takes a few deep breaths until you're confident enough to peek around the corner to check the room. _Damn, that guy is still reading the magazine. _Aside from him, you can't see anyone though. You look at the sign marking your goal again. So close. And I can't wait here forever, someone will find me eventually. You can see only one way to get there: Sneak to the door and pray that he doesn't hear you. When he turns the page the next time, you gather all your courage and step out into the open. You pay close attention to step as lightly as possible as you cross the room slowly. Please don't turn around now... Don't turn around... God, please don't turn around...
