You go to the messenger

You catch sight of Morgan in the corner of your eye. As you turn, he speaks, "M'lord, the messenger has woken up."

"Excellent! Let's go to him"

The two of you make your way to the infirmary. Lying in one of its beds is the messenger. Upon entering the room you greet him, "Hello there. I am the owner of this estate. While out on a walk in the forest, I found you laying **** on the trail. Were you attacked? Are you ill?" Feigning curiosityand concern, for you well know what transpired.

He spoke in a hesitant tone, "Ehh, it's kind of blur. Last I remember I was reading my map, then I struggled as something gripped me from behind and I passed out."

"That's horrendous! I'll send some guards to search out for any suspecisious characters." You direct Morgan to go relay the message to a patrol of guards. As he leaves the room, your attention resumes on the messenger. "What is your name?" The first sincerely honest thing you've said thus far. "My name's Tom. I... uh- take it that you own this here, er- uh- place?"

Taking a seat on his bedside, you answer, "That I do. I actually own this entire land. This estate, the town, the forest, the old mines, all of this quaint valley is of my own."

His eye shoot wide open, "OH! You're him! I had several letters for you! Where-- oh no. Did the attacker steal them??"

Quelling his panic, "No, no. I found your bag fully loaded on your person." You reach over and grab the satchel, handing it to him. "Here we are. " He gently takes it from your hand before swiftly sifting through each document. "Are they all accounted for?" You ask. Tom sighs in relief, "Thank gods, yes. Yes. They're all here!" He finishes speaking while tightly hugging the leathery bag.

Handing you the bag, "Here. I was told to deliver the entire satchel to you. Every letter inside is addressed to you. Now, my deepest appreciation for your hospitality, but if I leave now, I can stay on schedule.
