You don’t have a quest for me, do you?

In terms of marketable skills, Alex doesn’t have much to offer, other than a willingness to do hard work. He is about to say so, when he suddenly remembers something of potentially significant value.

“Well, I am a squire and am in training to become a knight of the realm,” he says, hoping he sounds more confident than he feels, standing there with his hands over his prick. “As such, no one is more qualified for daring quests and exploits for glory. Is there any need for such a service?”

“Are your exploits going to be half as daring as your master, who ran out of here with Lord Reginald’s sword zeroed in on his balls? I’m not sure your offer sounds particularly valuable to me, young man.” Kelly’s scowl deepens, and Alex thinks desperately for some solution.

Grace speaks up. “Actually, Kelly, maybe he could help us find out what happened to Sophia.”

Alex looks back and forth between the two women. He doesn’t know who or what they are talking about, but he is grateful for the possibility of a rescue from this awkward scenario.

Kelly looks thoughtful. “I hadn’t considered that,” she says. She mulls the thought for a moment and says to Alex, “One our girls — Sophia — went missing a few days ago. At first I thought she fell in love with some customer — or, more likely, fell in love with his money — and ran off with him. The problem is that she didn’t take any of her things, nor did she say goodbye to anyone — not even her roommate.” She nods toward Grace.

Alex remembers overhearing the bartender and a customer talk about a dancer who was seen with a mysterious stranger. He seizes on the idea.

“Of course, I’ll help. Saving damsels in distress is one of the first duties in a knight’s job description.”

“Are you sure you are up for the challenge?” asks Kelly.

Alex tries not to assign any hidden inuendo to a brothel keeper asking him if he was “up” for anything and answers the question directly. “Absolutely. I shall find Sophia, and I shall not rest until I have done so.”

Grace laughs, and says, “And you can trust him when he says he doesn’t take very long at all to finish.”

Alex blushes at the reference to his much-too-quick experience in tossing his virginity out the window.

Kelly thinks about it and says, “Alright, but I want Grace to go with you.”

“Me? Whatever for?” protests the young woman.

“Because you know Sophia better than anyone else,” replies the older woman, “and because I don’t want another knight — or knight-in-training — running away before I get Sophia back or the money that he owes me.”

Kelly glances down at Alex’s clothing on the floor. “You might as well get dressed. Unless, of course, you are going to fight dragons with that spear between your legs. Let me know before you head out.”

With that, Kelly departs the room, leaving Alex and Grace alone.

“I guess we’re going on an adventure together, then,” says Alex cheerfully, grateful for the way things have developed.

“I guess so,” says Grace, grabbing her clothing from the floor. “Let’s hope we get it over as quickly as our last ‘adventure’ together, and if not, that more than one of us will get something worthwhile out of this one.”
