Chapter 3
by DrDan75
Do you go with him?
You don't go with Brian
You look at the man for a moment, then tug your arm away, freeing yourself from his grasp. "And why should I trust you?" You say. "So far I haven't found anyone I can trust in this insane asylum!" Brian holds his hands up, looking at you.
"Hey, it's cool, I know you're pretty confused right now. I was the same way at first. But we need to stick together out here!" Another dart went by, this time narrowly missing Brian, who poked his head down. "Dammit!" He said, then coaxed me forward. "Come on!" I refused to move.
"No," I said, looking at him. "I'm going to take my chances. I'm pretty sure I can find a place to hide out there until nightfall." He looked at me, eyes wide.
"What, are you crazy man?" He clenched his teeth, then started to move away on his own. "You'll never make it that long! They'll hunt you down and you'll never see the light of day again!" I scoffed at him.
"I don't need your fucking hyperbole, buddy." I smirked, then moved to a position behind another tree. Brian shouted something incoherent, before running away in the opposite direction to save himself. I made a break for a clearing in the distance, zigzagging back and forth as the shots mysteriously stopped.
Upon reaching the other side of the forest, I held onto a tree, catching my breath for a moment and wiping my brow. I stood still for only a few seconds before something struck my leg. It felt like a sting, and was not terribly painful. Reaching down, I pulled a syringe out of my thigh that seemed to have already deposited its payload into my body. My heart began to race and palpitate. My breath shortened as I **** myself to keep running, moving slower, ever slower, edging forward through the sheer **** of will. My vision started to cloud as I saw them emerge from the trees on all sides. Women everywhere, beautiful women, surrounding me, carrying nets and ropes, cutting off my escape, playfully grappling with me and laughing as I became weaker and weaker, unable to resist them as they pushed me to the ground. I was semiconscious, looking up at my captors as my vision blurred. One was blonde with a hunting knife and a ponytail. She held the sharp tip against my throat as I started to black out.
"Good shot, Jill." I heard the words just before losing consciousness. "He went down fast. You must have hit an artery."
