The demon collapsed on the ground and screamed in agony as the skin on her right thigh began to burn. Slowly and painfully, runes marking her as your property were drawn on her skin. When the process was over, she was a sweaty, hyperventilating mess.

She looked at her thigh, incredulous. "What did you do to me?" she yelled at Erik; she got up quickly, and in the blink of an eye she unsheathed her claws and charged him, going for his throat: the geas, however, did its job and blocked her a few centimeters away.

"Why can't I strike you?" she screamed, frustrated.

"I put a geas on you" Erik explained. "You have to obey all my commands, and you cannot harm me or yourself."

She withdrew her claws and looked at him with spite. "It's not over, mortal. I will overpower you, and I will break free."

"No, you won't." gloated Erik. "Now that it's on you, even I couldn't break it. It would take a mage more powerful than me to do it."

The demon stood silent, shooting daggers at him with her eyes.

Erik clapped his hands. "Now, my dear Irina, it is getting quite late. It's time to introduce you to your bed: follow me."

They walked through the corridors of the mansion until they reached a mostly empty chamber; in the middle of it there was a simple bed, while from the wall behind it dangled a pair of chains with manacles attached, meant to restrain the occupant's arms.

"You're kidding me." the demon said. "I have to sleep on that?"

"Indeed. Now lie on it, and let me restrain you."

Compelled by the geas, she obeyed and stayed still while Erik chained her.

"Is this really necessary?" she complained. "I wouldn't try to escape anyway."

"I don't doubt it, but it is more fun this way. And in any case, I forbid you to try to escape."

Without saying anything else, Erik left the room and retreated to his chambers. He went to sleep, imagining what he would do to the demon the following morning.
