Chapter 5 by TheDespaxas TheDespaxas

Do I take her offer?

Yes

I'm missing key elements but I figure that if they were willing to share them they would have done so from the start. (such as the identity of the thief and what was stolen.) Safe, comfortable travel in good company in exchange of a little bit of sneaking around or strong-arming, the deal is fair.

"I'll help you get justice, if you provide passage and I can keep anything I recover past what is yours and a reasonable compensation for your slight. " I propose, offering my hand for her to shake.

"As expected, Oord told me so. I accept your deal. The currents of time are shifting but some things are as rock, you can always count on human greed." she says as she shake your hand to seal the deal. "Be fair with her, even if she doesn't deserve it."

I look in her eyes, covered in a white veil. The last bit, muttered understands her breath was a prophesy. But who should I be fair with? And when? It could as easily be tomorrow or in ten years with someone touched by Oord.

I volunteer Gnash to help loading things in the chariots, making sure in the process that he leaves enough free space in ours for me to be comfortable during the journey. The driver of the chariot we're in is a bald old man, who I quickly discover is nearly deaf.

Once the caravan is set in motion it won't stop until the night falls or a problem occurs. I slept little to plan my escape, I take advantage of a few very comfortable bundles of raw wool and carpets to take a well deserved nap.

Is the first day of travel uneventful?
