Chapter 4 by KamenWriter KamenWriter

Do you go through the tube?

Yes

I take a deep breath, as the lights turn off behind me. I try to take a step forward into the tube, but my feet don't move as I expect. There's no gravity here. I swallow slowly, as I try to launch myself forward.

It works, and I slowly begin moving through the tunnel. I look at the ship I am propelling towards. It is made of the same dark metal as the one I just left, but it seems pristine. Age, perhaps. This ship feels newer, as though the grunge and rot had not yet set in.

It's hard to describe the size. Constant movement wasn't something I was used to. It was large. Like, as in larger than three skyscrapers. It was breathtaking. But terrifying, in a way.

It's like what Wilfrid Noyce said. "A machine is like the Desert: either it fascinated or appalls you." This thing was the same. The mere size is a test of sanity. But there was an odd beauty to it. It was a block of a ship. Some jagged parts to it, but in no way aerodynamic. But did those rules even apply in space?

I moved on, in to the new ship. Unsure what, if anything, was waiting for me.

Do you continue?
