You weren't sure why, but you felt that you needed to agree. You nodded, albeit slowly, and Matt grinned at you.

"Great! I knew you had a strong mind, buddy. Just pretend to be hypnotised, alright?" He said as he walked past you and into the loungeroom. You followed him in, feeling sick in the stomach that you would betray your wife like this.

As the two of you entered the room, you stayed quiet and tried to not draw attention to yourself. Cait, Joel and Amanda were sitting on the lounge and Jessica was on the armchair. You sat down on the floor and patiently waited as Matt spoke.

"How long have you been a hypnotist for?" Cait asked. She leaned forward as if interested.

"Well, I've always had the gift... But I didn't discover it until maybe... Four years ago? I tour the country and perform privately when I can." Matt spoke with a smile.

He gazed over at you then back at your family before speaking again.

"So, if you don't mind... I'll give a demonstration now..." He said.

"Oh, I don't think I want to be hypnotized..." Amanda began to say. She gave a nervous glance towards you and your siblings.

"Don't worry, there's absolutely no risk. I'll do you after them, if that makes you feel comfortable?" He offered.

"C'mon, mom. Stop being a pest." Joel crossed his arms.

"Oh, shut up. Alright, fine." She agreed.

"Very good." Matt said as he leaned forward and clasped his hands together with a smile.

"Now... Amanda. Please close your eyes... All of you, close your eyes and try to relax... Lean back..." He motioned to Cait as he spoke.

"You will need to clear your mind and be completely relaxed as you listen to me. Empty your mind of all your thoughts..." He spoke in his soft voice.

"Feel your body loosen and relax as you listen to my voice. Your mind is empty of thoughts. You don't need to think. You feel comfortable." You continued to listen as a familiar feeling washes over you, but you pulled yourself together and managed to stay in control.

You felt Matt's hand on your shoulder and chanced a peak up at him. He offered a nod. You gazed around the room and saw that all four were slumped forward in a daze. You quietly stood up next to Matt.

"Now it's time to take control. Your wife used the line 'I need you to do this for me' to control you." Matt whispered. You did infact feel a strange sensation when Matt uttered the line, but this new perspective seemed to be enough for you to keep composure.

"Well, now it's my line." You said. Matt grinned at you then began to speak louder in a clear and enchanting voice.

"You feel so completely relaxed. Nothing can harm you. You have no need for your innate defenses or even your consciousness. Feel yourself let go. You aren't ****, you're in safe hands." He spoke in an eerily soothing voice.

"Nod if you understand." He commanded. They all slowly nodded.

"Good. You feel so safe and carefree. You don't even want to think anymore. In fact, when you hear the phrase 'I need you to do this for me', you're going to remember this feeling, and you're going to know that whatever is said is in your best interest and you won't question it." He continued on with a fierce determination. "Nod if you understand." He commanded again, and once again, they all nodded.

"Good." he said.

He looked at you and murmured in your ear. "I've got one more thing for Jessica and we're done."

Matt stepped quietly over to Jessica and spoke in a hushed tone so that the others wouldn't hear. You stepped closer to listen in.

"Jessica, when you regain consciousness you're not going to want to control Steve anymore. In fact, you're going to want to do everything you can to keep him happy because you love him so much. Do you understand?" He asked. She slowly nodded.

Matt looked at you and grinned the slightest. "I'm going to let them regain control. You should try it straight away, but be careful because it might be stronger on some than others. It might be best to try do it individually."

"Okay." You nodded to him.

"You feel yourself drift back into this room. Feel your fingers flex... Your feet against the ground.. The sound of my voice grow louder as you slowly reenter the room..." He spoke loudly and you watched as everyone began to stir. You blinked and quickly sat back down so you could pretend to wake up too.

"Oh... Wow... That was incredible..." Joel muttered to himself as he stood up and stretched.

"Yeah... I doubted the whole thing... That was... Fun." Amanda agreed with a nod.

"Hm... Did we go to sleep?.. I feel so happy..." Cait felt her face as she looked at you then at Jessica in disbelief.

"Very happy, yeah." Jessica spoke with a smile.

"Oh, shit... It's late." Joel said as he looked at his phone.

"It is! I have to go. Thanks for having me over everyone. Steve, I'll see you later." He flashed you a grin which you returned.

"Thanks for coming over Matt!" Jessica called out.

As the door closed behind him, you slowly stood up and rummaged pointlessly in the kitchen. You thought about the command you now have over your family and wife. The question was, who were you going to test it on first?
