by SingingLark
should Liandra accept the gift?
Yes
"I don't think that will be necessary... as I said, I don't plan to find any faerie market today" she raised her hands, and shook her head. What would she do with such a blade?
"But what if a rogue faerie finds you and decides to try some wicked sport? Three times this dagger saved me from foes that were considered the best among their peers" the man challenged, and he had a good point. she was very far from the castle walls. "I will offer him some pastries, Diva's sweets are capable of cheering even the dourest of souls" If only she believed her answer
"And what if a dark prince see your beauty and falls in love with you? then a weapon to protect your virtue would have been most welcoming" Liandra's mind imagined the unknown Mortimer, and wondered if he would be better or worse than this dark prince. "Then I would apologize, for I am already promised to another."
"And what if you get lost in these woods? One of the magical properties of this dagger is to always know the way back home." Liandra doubted she would get lost, but the stranger seemed decided. She sighed, and said "Well... that could happen, yes. I will accept your gift, and I promise to repay your kindness in the future"
"You are most kind, princess." He said as she tied the weapon to her belt. She didn't remember identifying herself as such. When she raised her eyes to complain, though, the stranger was simply no longer there.
