Chapter 99 by Miriam Miriam

Get ready for another day of work?

Yes, let's see what the second day will bring

You close your eyes, letting the warm water wash over you. The shower in your apartment was adequate, but it certainly didn't compare to the ones at the studio. Whenever you showered after a scene it felt like all pain and doubt just... faded, making place for bliss - or even arousal.

You'd like to reflect on this further, but memories of excitement start flashing through your memory. You hastily finish up and step out of the shower to dry yourself off. Then you put on your bathrobe and look at yourself in the mirror. You get busy making yourself presentable while reflecting on yesterday.

Your new job certainly wasn't boring, like being a cashier at a grocery store had been. New faces, new experiences... maybe some light soreness afterwards. At times it did feel like people in the studio were trying to take advantage of you as the 'new girl', but you still earned far more cash in a single day than you would have otherwise gotten with most entry-level jobs. Perhaps you would even be able to buy yourself something nice soon, and not having to worry about money would certainly be a treat.

And... perhaps the sex wasn't all so bad either, you dared to admit to yourself. At times there could be something oddly arousing about being plowed with reckless abandon. And besides, once you became more experienced and respected within the studio you could probably steer your scenes more into a direction you personally preferred. Although yesterday did make you realize that you have limits. Pain and discomfort could be just as much a part of the ordeal as pleasure and excitement might be.

You think back to your very first audition with Red two days ago. At the time, you were overwhelmed with how strange he behaved and how fast everything was developing. But you think that you understand his words a little better now. 'It's acting. You have to pretend like you enjoy it. Passion is what makes a scene good', he had said. Could you develop an actual passion for this work, you wonder? Perhaps so, since you're busy getting dressed and ready to see another day through. You almost excitedly wonder what today will bring.

What do you do?
