Chapter 17 by dndw dndw

Do you help him out?

Yes, four eyes are better than two

You hop off the couch to go join Darryl in the search. He's on his knees with his back to you, sorting through the mess. "I'll help you," you say, "Where should I be looking?" Darryl, weirdly, is clearly surprised. He keeps his back turned to you, and his movements become frantic. "Uuhh, just, just over there!" He sounds strange, and he didn't actually point to anything. "Are you OK, Darryl?" "Yes, yes, fine!" You hear what you think might have been a zipper right before he stands up and turns around. He's a little red in the face. Huh, weird.

"I was asking if there is some place I could help you look." "Oh! Right! No, no, no need. I think it should be right over here." He dives back into his boxes, and a few seconds later emerges with a little black earbud. He hands it over. "Here it is," he begins, "DON'T drop it. It's built to be small, not sturdy. It also really doesn't like water. Other than that..." He pauses as you turn the thing over in your hands. Doesn't look very remarkable, but you suppose it'll work. Darryl sure seems to think so, at least. "So how do I use this?"

Darryl spends a few minutes talking you through installing the app that will let you talk through the device, and explaining how to turn it on and off. He seems oddly... Dejected, as he walks you through everything. Surely he can't be this worried over lending out this little thing? Either way, you thank him and start to head out. "Remember," he tells you as you leave, "If you break it, you'll have to let me fuck you whenever I want for a month!" "Yeah, yeah, don't worry. Bye!"

You hurry back home, barely able to contain your excitement at the prospect of actually seeing your plans come to fruition now that you have the equipment you need. The technological part, at least. Now for the matter of the biological equipment...

Time to get Sam involved
