"The Asian American Chamber of Commerce is having their Heritage Festival this weekend in forest park. I've been several time before, there are shows, performances, a parade and the food vendors are amazing."

You nod in approval, "Not bad, Mr. Sajenson. That sounds like a fun date."

Christopher smiles, "And I have a surprise! I won two . . ."

"Wait!" You interrupt the high school senior. "Don't tell me. I love a surprise."

"Okay." He cheerfully nods.

"Let me lose the heels if we are going to the park." You comment as you slip on a pair of oxford leather sandals, "And you don't have to worry about the jacket and tie." To which Christopher happily complies, blissfully unaware of your objection to their dated design and desire to bring your date down to almost your height. Since Christopher doesn't yet have his drivers license, you head out in your red Lexus convertible coupé, one of the few things you got from the divorce. His eyes almost go was wide seeing your car as when he saw you for the first time.

You hate to admit it, but the Asian Heritage Festival turns out to be a very enjoyable date. The weather is perfect, the performances interesting and Christopher was right, the food vendors are amazing. Though constantly a bit nervous around you, Christopher is a smart and good hearted kid. You allow him to take a few selfies to post on his Facebook page to prove his detractors wrong. Losing track of the time, always a good sign for an outing, you forgot completely about the surprise. Christopher, however, does not, and is very excited about not only surprising you but attending himself. Producing two tickets he gains access to a restricted area of the park. Turning to you he can hardly contain himself. "This is so cool!" He proclaims, "I can't believe I won these tickets."
