Yes, Louise should come in.

‘Yes,’ John said, not really considering the decision. ‘Yes, we’ll both come in.’

‘Great,’ Doctor Harper said. ‘Whatever makes you more comfortable. Follow me, please.’

Louise met his eyes as they began to follow the doctor through a hallway, her eyes expecting an explanation.

‘Do you mind coming in?’ John whispered to his little sister.

With a shrug, she looked forward again. ‘I guess not. If that’s what you want.’

He nodded as a pang of discomfort ran through his groin, reminding him of why he was seeing the doctor in the first place, and how much of a mistake it could’ve been asking his little sister to come into the room with him.

Inside Doctor Harper’s office, the siblings were asked to take a seat while the doctor quickly tapped something into the computer at her desk. She turned to them a moment later and held her hands on her knee. ‘Okay, John. What brings you into my office this morning?’

‘Well,’ he began, glancing at Louise, his little sister, in the chair beside him. ‘I’ve got this… weird pain, and it’s really uncomfortable.’

‘Weird pain. Okay,’ Doctor Harper nodded with a smile. ‘I can deal with weird pain. Whereabouts is this pain coming from?’

John glanced at Louise again, who was watching him in confusion at his ****. ‘It’s, uh, well. It’s… down there,’ he admitted, now refusing to look at Louise.

Doctor Harper raised her eyebrows and looked between both of the siblings. ‘Okay, that’s alright. There’s no need to be embarrassed; it’s my job to help you, so that’s what I’m going to do.’ She folded one leg, covered in dark stockings, onto the other. ‘I suppose I should ask, are you two together?’ she asked, pointing at both of them.

John was already too embarrassed to look at his sister as he answered.
