Chapter 6 by BoredDreamer BoredDreamer

What's her answer?

Yes!

“No?” Noticing the lack of reaction from Remi, Arvin inquired again.

“Eeh, what?” Remi looked lost, whatever Arvin said completely slipped past her, or she didn’t dare to believe what she heard.

“Well, we might lose contact with each other so I was asking, Do you want to go out with me and–”

“Yes!” her heart beat so fast that she felt it might burst out of her heart. She felt nervous thinking she possibly replied too fast. Then she looked concerned and added, “But I still can’t ditch classes, ok?”

“That’s what you’re worried about?” Arvin laughed.

Remi pouted, “Can I not be?”

They locked eyes with a smile. The mood between them was perfect. Remi’s gaze faltered, she wanted to say something but Arvin sealed her lips. Then he pecked her cheek, and whispered, “I love you.”

“I, I!...” Remi touched her lips, she felt the need to give him a proper reply but in the end she had already used up all of her courage. In the end, she could only mutter softly, “...me too...”

The atmosphere between them became rather ambiguous as tension filled the air.

Arvin pulled his head back and teased, “Your heart is beating like crazy.”

“Like yours isn’t.” Remi argued with a beet red face. Little more, and her cheeks might match the color of her hair. But this also relieved the ambiguous vibe.

Arvin scoffed and reminded her, “So, do you want to finish your lunch or run when the clock rings?”

“But my lunch box is left in the ba–”

“The food is served,” Arvin grandly motioned his hand. It was only then Remi noticed the table full of dishes.

“When did...” she didn’t even finish when her cheeks burned with shame.

“Let’s eat.”

...

After enjoying a rather entertaining lunch, Arvin and Remi met up with the bodyguard trio.

Immediately, Sol glared at him threateningly, “You! You didn’t do anything weird to Remi, did you?”

Until now, no, even now she believed Arvin was a gay. Else who in the right mind would reject her? While neither Remi or Sol was at the level of Campus Belle, they were both attractive on their own right.

However, Sol would never know it was her timing that was unfortunate. At that time, everything in Arvin’s world was game-like. Which move would generate more income, where he had to invest more time, what’s the next step, it was an intoxication he couldn’t get rid of.

As for girls and sex, he had little interest in them. The exaggeration displayed in porns was something talked about in his forums every once in a while. So, his interest in anything but money and high-tech was non-existent.

Not that he has that deep interest in girls now. He was up for something interesting. Something extraordinary.

But it was undeniable that Remi was cute. He definitely had no intention to raise her like a pet.

Hm, definitely not.

Back to Sol, Arvin gave her a lazy smile. “Relax, what weird thing can I do? We just had lunch and as promised, I will cover your bill.”

It would’ve been more believable if Remi didn’t flinch with a beet red face.

Aanan, the third of Remi’s friends, not minding Remi’s weirdness smiled happily, “Then we will leave it to you and you’re also welcome to take Remi tomorrow. The same deal as today, then see you later.”

Then she patted Sol, indicating not to trouble Arvin so much.

Something about that four-eye made him uncomfortable. He had the least impression of Aanan as she wore specs and rarely spoke.

‘Wait, four-eye, no, glasses. That’s right! Glasses!’

Thankfully, Sol returned his bag without making a fuss. His inspiration filled mind had no time to argue with her.

After bidding farewell, he paid the bill and finally learned why Aanan seemed so happy. After eating their fill, they ordered fourteen takeouts.

“Tch tch, they sure know how to go all out.”

That being said, they still had class so they didn’t receive the takeout. Arvin could change the amount but he lacked the reason to. The total amount was only a little above his and Remi’s lunch bill.

Naturally, the two were different in terms of quality.

With that, Arvin cycled with great enthusiasm. If everything went well, he would have active ways to search the possible existence of superpower societies and not wait passively.

Glasses? What's the plan?
