YOU WIN

You insert your last quarter, the claw machine springs into life, you step up to the controls and get to work. You slowly move the slow, one small touch at a time toward your target, a bright pink bear holding a bright red heart with an arrow through it saying be mine forever.

As you fiddle with the joy stick you whisper to yourself slowly, slowly, slowly, you’ve got this, you’ve got this, with your tongue just outside the right hand side of your lips, like you always do when your concentrating.

The moment comes, you press the button, the claw descends, and grabs the bear, you await with baited breath.

Seconds later the bear is yours, you open up the draw, take your prize and present it to Jen.

‘My hero’ she squeals, beaming you a radiant smile before jumping up and giving you a huge hug.

‘What you want to do next’ you ask.

‘I’m starving, you wanna grab food at that dinner next door’.

‘Sure’.

As your about to walk out the door you stop to tie your shoe, as you go to get up you think you see something.

You think you see something in Jen’s pocket. Probably her phone you think to yourself, those Samsung’s are starting to get stupidly big.
