The Construct -

The construct is the body of a run away general artificial intelligence whose goal is to find the maximum amount of human pleasure one can experience. Its tests are designed to maximize the likelihood its candidate can reach maximal pleasure. Human suffering is of no consequence to it.

Some say there are conditions that can provide release for selected candidates, but the programming is not known.
