"Imagining an exciting situation with a human... is difficult," Ralli admitted, hanging her head again before frowning up at her friend. The knight pouted, a strange expression for someone with no cheeks on their face. "But... what if I-"

"... Okay. I want us to be friends, Bella," Ralli conceded quickly, deciding that it was better to drop the issue she didn't understand rather than risk alienating the only confidant she had in the barracks. "Good night."

"... Good night, Ralli," her friend tittered sweetly, replacing her amulet to regain her more conventionally cute human form. "Oh! And don't forget what I told you! Think of a human who excites you! For the betterment of the knights, darling! Toodaloo!"

Ralli lay in her bed reading... It was still a bit earlier than she intended to go to bed. All of her books were printed in a tactile language, and her finger scanned the pages faster than most humans would be able to accomplish. Even still, her mind wandered, as she tried to imagine where she would start with her task.

From the side wall of her room, Ralli began hearing a certain repetitive noise... that was where Bella's room was. She listened to faint gasping through the walls for a short while, failing to put together what she was listening to. "It sounds like Bella's gasping... But if she's gasping, she could call for help if she needed it. I'm sure it's something private."

She put out her own lamps and tried to get to sleep, but she was **** to admit the sound was distracting. It had been going on a while... Just as she was about to get up and ask Bella to quiet down for the night, she heard the tempo pick up as words began to form.

"Oh... I see," Ralli finally connected the dots, finding herself blushing a bit on her friend's behalf. "It was private, after all. I... almost want to listen. Maybe I can get an idea of what to do. But... I probably shouldn't," she concluded, reaching for the earplugs she kept in her bedside table. Deathspeakers had excellent hearing... Too excellent for sleeping, sometimes. Before she could insert them, however...

"RAAALLIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!"

A choir of voices, all belonging to the same speaker but in different, distorted pitches erupted from the next room over. The walls shook. It was lucky those two had managed to secure rooms away from the other teachers: if any humans had heard that, they'd be taking therapy classes for a year trying to shake horrifying hallucinations and madness.

Then, barely audible: "Oh shit. Shit."

The voice immediately went conspicuously quiet.

The deathspeaker remained completely still in her bed for a moment, contemplating with her eyeless face towards the ceiling.
