“I’m not eating my classmates,” Beth said hotly, though she could not deny her stomach grumbling.

The demon dog, for lack of a better term, purred, “I am aroused to hear it,” he said.

Beth grit her teeth. “No, thank you.” She grabbed one of the bony lengths of the creature and pulled. The jelly-like flesh giving way with a wet noise as she peeled the creature. Long thin spines slid through its flesh, and she came away with a foot-long spine like thing. She looked at it, wondering if she should remove the other spines before trying to eat it. She decided that with how jelly-like the creature, it would probably just slough into nothing if she did.

She lifted it to her head and bit into the flesh, her teeth squelching through. It tasted salty and felt gross. She had to hold back her stomach or risk being sick. Then she felt something sharp stab at her and flinched back. She brought a hand to her lip and found that she was bleeding.

“Yes, maybe remove all the spines before you try and eat it.” The demon offered his advice as he laughed.

Bethany glared at him before removing the other two spines and dropping them on the floor. Then she went back to work eating the slimy creature. As she did, the demon walked over to another helpless victim and plucked a few more wolm from them. He dropped them in a pile near the spines and bent his head downwards. Gently he breathed fire into them, and Bethany watched as the flesh ignited and shrivelled. What remained was just the skeletal spine-like bones.

The demon roughly arranged them with his paws before breathing magic into the pile. The bones animated and moved themselves more neatly into the arrangement, and she heard a cracking noise as they fused together. Then glowing runes etched their way onto the bones.

“For you,” the demon said as she finished eating her breakfast.

She leant over and picked up the bones, “What is it?”

The demon smiled, “Clothing, try it on.”
