With kindness and understanding

You sigh deeply. "I see. I'm sorry, Polyxena - I've been in such a hurry to set things straight here that I haven't slowed down enough to see how things are affecting you. That's my failure."

Polyxena looks surprised, almost as though she expected worse from you. "It's...not a big problem, Dominus."

You shake your head. "It's not, legally or anything, no. But you're right. It's foolish of me, and unkind towards you." You reach out and gently lay a hand on her shoulder. "I may be a man used to being in control, Polyxena. But you'd be best able to serve me with a longer leash. I'm sorry for not seeing that earlier, and I'll do my best to forebear in the future."

Polyxena smiles slightly. "It's all right, Dominus. I don't blame you."

You nod. "Well. Glad we cleared that up." You clear your throat slightly. "I think...perhaps it's best if I head back to my room for the night. Sleep well, Polyxena."

She bows her head. "You as well, Dominus. You are welcome back here...any time."

You smile, give her a nod, and head out.
