With a promise and a car ride

Veronica and you get dressed and leave the entrance hall to wait for the car outside. The both of you are sitting on a wall in silence. You don't really know what to say after what just happened, but you find you don't mind the quiet and are just happy to be in each other's company. When you look over at her, you see the gorgeous redhead staring at you. She quickly looks away, but than turns her gaze back to you and smiles timidly. For the first time since you've met her she actually looks shy and unsure of what posture to take. It's a look that suits her, you think.

You feel butterflies looking at her, and a strange sense of pride that you actually managed to make the usually so self-assured woman act like a nervous school girl. All of a sudden you realize you can't stand just sitting next to her. You jump up and take her hand, dragging her around the corner towards relative privacy. There you push her up against the wall and kiss her passionately, which she enthusiastically reciprocates. When you break away to get some air the both off you are staring at each other, lost in each other's eyes, both feeling hesitant to break the magic by speaking.

"I really enjoyed myself today," you finally manage to say.

She smiles. "Me too. Let's do this again soon."

"Yeah, I'd really like that." You feel like you probably have the biggest, stupidest grin right now, but don't care.

"Yeah," Veronica whispers before giving you a final hug. As you walk back into view, you see that the bureau's car is already waiting for you.

During the drive back you once again settle in a comfortable silence. Halfway there, Veronica surprises you by taking hold of your hand. You smile at her and squeeze it. You think you see the driver looking at you through his rearview mirror, but if he has any thoughts, he keeps them to himself. It isn't until the car pulls up in front of HQ, that thoughts of the highly dangerous mission ahead start to cloud your mind again. As you walk up the steps you can't help but feel nervous about what kind of plan Bobby and the chief have come up with.
