“Well… I hope you’re right,” Teysa said. “I don’t exactly have a lot of experience with relationships even before all this happened. I guess I don’t really know what ‘normal’ is.”

“Yeah? Let me give you one piece of advice,” Lil’esh said with a smirk. “There is no such thing as “normal.”

She reached out her hand and Teysa clasped it, wrist to wrist. For a moment, Teysa thought the drow was going to try to hug her, but instead Lil’esh just smiled. She released Teysa’s hand and stepped back.

“I ought to be getting back to my people,” she said. “They’re likely to think you **** me, or something.”

“Really?” Teysa was stricken. “Do they fear us that much?”

Lil’esh laughed. “You’re too easy! You’re practically a saint to them. No, there’s just a lot to do.” She gave a jaunty wave and turned to go. “I’ll see you around, ok, Teysa?”
