Who Is My Sister?

Annie Price, my sister, who I now know as the biggest bitch in the world, but she wasn’t always like that, I think. When we were young, she was actually really sweet, but apparently she hated my mom at first, since she is not her actual mother. I think having a little brother made her happy though, because we played together everyday, even when I made new friends, she would still only play with me. We used to be best friends back when I was 4, or so I thought, because we shared everything together, and spent all of our time watching cartoons, playing videogames, and “wrestling" -- which was more like tickle fights, but they got quite physical, and for some reason, she always won.

What happened to those times??... I mean, I know we grow up and we distance ourselves when we get older… But what made her become such an annoying bitch? - I ask myself in confusion, as I genuinely can’t tell when my sister switched from a fun, caring, and even sweet girl, into the rudest, most obnoxious, and frustrating person to talk to. I start to remember, but it’s honestly quite sad to think about how my sister stopped caring about me, so I’m afraid to go back to those memories -- but I know I must, maybe it could help me understand my sister better, but I doubt it.

Annie was only 2 years older than me, but when I turned 8, she began to experience puberty, and that really changed everything. We always talked, but she distanced herself a little, which was fine, because I was making other friends, but she was also making new friends, and they weren’t the best ones. Annie started hanging around with more popular girls, the bad type of popular girl. After some weeks of hanging around them, I remember how she gradually changed her behavior, probably intentionally, so she could fit in with that group of superficial people - I honestly hate when that happens, but I guess my sister just gave in to the peer pressure or something, I don’t know…

One day, I saw her in the hallways of our school, and since I was a very loving brother, I went to hug her. We always hugged back then, and I just loved it, even more than mom’s hugs, just because it felt like there was more of a connection between me and Annie. I’m sure she also loved them, but this moment was different. She was with her new friends, and I guess she had to act differently when she was around them, and being popular means not talking to your siblings, because she just ignored me, and pretended to not know me.

I couldn’t comprehend what it meant, and I couldn’t possibly know that I was somehow embarrassing her, so I didn’t put much thought into it, and went for my hug anyway. When I approached her, Annie just turned around, and kind of pushed me to the side, a little aggressive as well, and very suddenly. I almost fell from her push, but I was more confused than anything at that moment, since this was something she had never done before, and it was quite shocking. But even though I couldn’t make sense of anything at that moment, I still remember what she said to her friends about me.

"Ugh, I hate that little prick... He always tries to do hugs or stuff like that, is he gay or something?" - Annie scoffed, with the meanest tone I’ve ever heard, and all of her friends started laughing at me. I was more confused at the reason of their laughter, I didn’t even know what being gay was, but then I realized that they were laughing at me. I even considered laughing, but I knew this was nothing to laugh about when my sister pointed her finger at me, started calling me mean names, and laughed as well -- I just couldn’t take that, I was about to cry, but thankfully I didn't, and just ran away.

After that incident it all went downhill, she was becoming more of a bitch every single day, and she was only 10 at the time. I tried approaching her a couple times after that, but she began ignoring me. It wasn’t only at school either, even at home she wouldn’t talk to me. My heart was crushed. I always saw her as my friend, but now she rejected me, and didn’t want me to be with her, only because I embarrassed her in front of her friends -- who they probably didn’t even like her anyway, I doubt they are still her friends.

That little accident led to my sister becoming a really mean, annoying, and disgusting bitch, and it took me a long time to get over it. I feel like I’m still not fully over it, and I still hope Annie could somehow become sweet again, or at least treat everyone like human people. But even though I quickly forgot about her, I still spent the next years in an awkward spot, because I had just lost my best friend, and I couldn’t talk to my sister anymore.

It was probably the worst time for me to lose her love, because I also began puberty, and that was probably the worst thing I’ve ever experienced. But since I guess I’m done with talking about my family, and since I still have a lot to think about, there is no one left to talk about but me. I really don’t know what I could say about myself, but I sure know a lot about me, so this shouldn’t be so complicated - I will spend a long time thinking though, huh?... Oh, tonight I won’t get any sleep...
