The girls rushed into Cosmos, thankful to be out of the cold and drizzle. Their good fortune was quickly replaced by disappointment, however, when they emerged in the cavernous club and found it virtually deserted.

"Where is everyone?" Brooke groaned. "We got all dressed up for this?"

"I don't understand, this is supposed to be the coolest place in town!" Ashley protested, before walking over to a pretty waitress in a revealing outfit and glancing at her nametag. "Hi, uh, Emma? Where is everybody?"

"Long story," she replied in an English accent, rolling her eyes. "Are you the bachelorette party?"

"Yes! And right now I'm in danger of being demoted from maiden of honor at my best friend's wedding! We came to party! To tease and flirt with guys!"

Emma nodded sympathetically. "Don't worry, I think I can help you. You're not racists, are you?"

"What? No!" Ashley replied defensively.

"Okay, well, some Yankee girls are," Emma said. "I can hook you up with some seriously badass black guys." Ashley felt a flutter of butterflies in her stomach, but managed to smile and nod in approval as Emma smiled at her conspiratorially.
