Wear the Towel (or try to at least)

I tried wrapping the towel around my body, but found it to short at the bottom to cover everything up. I tried shifting the towel up and down, and every time I thought I was close the towel would come undone. Giving in, I resigned to wrap it at the waist and use the last towel to sling over my breasts. I carried the laundry basket to the laundry room, and put my clothes into the wash. While tapping the buttons, my towel fell down. I quickly bent down and picked it up, re-wrapping it at the waist with a firmer tightness.

I buzzed over to the kitchen, and began making a PB&J for lunch. In the process, my towel again came undone. At this point I was finding the towel more of a chore than I had bargained for. I settled in for lunch, and popped on a nature show. Not too long afterwards, the phone rang so I quickly got up to pick up the phone. Of course, again the towel came off. I left it behind and answered the call, which turned out to be the phone company letting us know we hadn't signed up for another year contract. I was done eating lunch, so I went back and picked up my plate, and slung the other towel I had left on the couch over my shoulder. The next priority on the list was to go looking for the robe in the girls' rooms, as the towel covered so little and did such a poor job staying together I would rather wear nothing.

When I looked both girls' rooms over I didn't find any sign of it. The last place left was under my youngest's bed. Reaching down, I thought I saw it under the bed in the corner, so I climbed under the bed only to find it was just her vacation bag. A short trip backwards made me aware I had left the towels next to the bag. Deciding the carpet burn wasn't worth it, I wandered the house nude for a bit, surprised at how comfortable I was with the scenario. I decided to watch some more TV while I waited for the washing to finish, so I could start the dryer in time to hopefully have clothes before the girls got home. The mistake of leaving it on the nature channel, would lead to me eventually passing out on the couch without any clothes, blankets, or pillows to cover up with.
