The world is not as it once was, but no one new the difference but me.

Someone uses an object of power to change the way the world and personal history as well as the branches of family trees can allow brothers to become sisters.

Most often stories would make the changed characters oblivious to these changes. Some occasional stories do let targets remember the way things once were.
