Verbal bullying includes name calling, insults, teasing, intimidation, homophobic or racist remarks, or verbal ****. While verbal bullying can start off harmless, it can escalate to levels which start affecting the individual target. Verbal **** can often start as just banter between friends. Rarely does it end there, however. As the two parties escalate the conflict, the things being said escalate from mere taunts and jibes to actually hurtful to almost warfare. This sort of **** may be nothing more than the abuser and abused trying to one-up each other, but it is no less harmful than any other type of bullying. This sort of bullying is more often associated with females than males as females tend to resort to verbal attacks due in part to their much lower body strength. It is also likely due to the natural tendency fro females to be more about the mental than the physical.

Th most effective **** is often to expose the verbal **** and return it to its source. While the two parties have likely done this themselves, it is often the effort of an untrained person who is merely reacting in the heat of the moment rather than the work of trained **** specialists.
