Venus surrenders (for now)

The city quickly disappeared from view beneath the dark waters as she was towed away. A cold fear ran through Venus as she considered the possibility that her last hope for rescue was gone. However, there was more at stake than her own life. These lizardmen had kidnapped more women than just her, and she needed to figure out where they made their lair if she was ever going to get them rescued. Fighting them now would have left her behind and the other girls might well be lost. 'Better to do things this way', she convinced herself.

Doing her best to mind her surroundings and take in the details, the huntress watched as her captors brought her and her fellow prisoners deeper. It was difficult to make out anything in the dark depths, but after a few moments she caught sight of an even deeper darkness: a cave. The lizardmen swam into it, moving single file to avoid harming their fresh catches upon the jagged rocks the lined the walls of the underwater tunnel.

As Venus was pulled in, the darkness seemed to swallow her whole and any light left faded quickly behind. She cursed herself as she felt the telltale signs of shifting and turning. However, the inky blackness left her disoriented and incapable of determining exactly in what direction that they had taken her. The Shadow Hunter guessed that there was a whole network of underwater tunnels that this particular group of reptilian beastmen used to travel about.

And then with an explosion of sound and air, she was back above the water. Despite the fact that she had been able to breath due to the vile potion **** upon her, Venus still took a deep breath. The semi-fresh air was likely the last privilege she would possess. She indulged in it for as long as she could before her eyes adjusted to the new light and she attempted to take in her surroundings.

It was a damp cave, lit by a number of torches as well as luminescent moss that hugged to the walls. Around the room were a number of threadbare and hole ridden blankets, most likely meant to be beds for the new captives. Venus wasn't exactly happy with their new 'quarters', but she hadn't expected anything less from these savage beasts.

A sharp gasp left the Shadow Hunter was one of the lizardmen removed the primitive harness that had been strapped to her, leaving her naked once more. A firm hand pushed her towards the center of the room with the other unfortunate females. Turning, Venus glared back at the gathering of reptile-men who now watched her and the others, their inhuman eyes impossible to read. Forked tongues slipped from between their lips intermittently, as if they were tasting the air.

The scaly monsters began to trill, click, and hiss amongst themselves, apparently discussing something. Venus knew in her gut that whatever it was, it wasn't good.
