Venus Goes On With Her Hunt

Despite Ace's advice and words of warning, Venus knows that she is a capable hunter and should have no trouble dealing with a lone Kappa. Deciding against visiting the library or purchasing any new supplies, she promptly leaves the Lounge and sets out for Velsin Falls. It takes only a day to travel to the falls, with a break to set up camp and rest inbetween.

Arriving at the falls, Venus looks over the surrounding area. It is quiet, peaceful, and serene, with the falls roaring nearby. She frowns, not finding any signs of a monster nearby, "Doesn't even look like the Kappa is here."

Just before she turned away from the falls, however, Venus spots something. At first it seemed to be a simple lily pad, but upon closer inspection the trained hunter spots eyes just beneath it, watching her warily. Removing her sword, she approaches the waters edge, but stops just short.

'Didn't I learn something in my training about Kappa and water?' Venus thought, hesitating at the edge as the Kappa watched her, seemingly prepared to flee. If she did not pursue now, it might get across to the other side of the lake, but if she swam after it she was certain she could catch it before it could escape.
