Utabi

Deciding that any village was as good as any other, she simply headed down the left path towards Utabi, wondering what might await her when she got there. The road itself was surprisingly long, and after hours of walking her feet were sore and she was aching for a nice warm bed. Looking back up, she smiled when she noticed the town on the horizon. Of course, she also realized that the sun was beginning to set, and if she wanted to find the safety of indoors, she would have to pick up her pace. Hurrying along, she managed to reach Utabi as the last rays of the sun were giving way to the oppresive night.

Of course, the villagers were also aware of the diminishing light, and were quickly moving to their homes, likely to lock themselves in until the sun banished their fears until night fell again. Quickly, Venus moved to one of the villagers closing up their shop, "Please, good sir, can you tell me where a traveler might spend the night in this town?"

The shopkeeper was frantic, looking at the moon glowing in the sky before turning back to Venus, "Yes, the Seven Slumbers Inn, its just down that way a bit, you can't miss it!"

With that, the stocky man pulled himself out of Venus' grasp, gathered up his things, and hurried off. Venus decided to do much the same and headed in the direction that the shopkeeper had pointed her, quickly finding this Inn. It was an old place, seemingly in disrepair, but serviceable enough for one night, she thought. Heading in, she shut the door behind her, feeling somewhat safe now, and only now just realizing that she had felt so.. shaken by being in the night. Did a little darkness really scare her that much?

After taking a moment to compose herself, she made her way over to the Innkeeper, offering him a small smile, "Greetings. I'm a traveler from Elcher Hill, and I was wondering if you had any rooms available for the night?"

"Elcher Hill, hmm? I had heard there was a werewolf terrorizing that village not too long ago. Coming here to escape it? Might want to consider turning back."

Venus did her best to simply shrug it off, "Oh, don't worry, I'm just passing through."

The Innkeeper nodded his head, a small smile forming under his thick, curly, mustache, "Well, ma'am, we have a room available for a few pieces of silver. You're welcome to it, for the night, and I certainly hope that the road ahead of you is safe and free of dangers."

"Thank you, I appreciate your hospitality, and your blessing," Opening her coinpurse, she handed the man the necessary coin, "Which room is it?"

"Upstairs, down the hallway, the last one on the left," the Innkeeper had already turned away, putting the coin somewhere safe.

"Again, thank you," And with that, Venus headed up the stairs to her room, hoping to continue her investigation in the morning.
