Use the laptop

“I should use the laptop,” Alexa said. “I need to check my email actually in case my work contacted me.”

Katie nodded as she pulled out her laptop and hooked it up to the ethernet. She then pulled up the browser and let Alexa log in to her email. Alexa noticed a few emails that must have been sent while she was on the plane. She opened one.

Dear Ms Johnson,

We are excited to have our first in-person interview tomorrow morning at 2:00 PM. We hope that you have had a safe and smooth flight to California. I would like to remind you that our company values are Integrity, Maturity, Honesty, and Trust. You must be able to demonstrate each of those values when working at Venus. Thank you for applying.

“Damn that’s intense,” Katie said as she peered over Alexa’s shoulder. “Oh, sorry. I didn’t mean to snoop. I was just curious.”

“It’s okay,” Alexa said. “Company emails are usually like this.”

“So I’m guessing they don’t know you still wear diapers,” Katie teased. “That doesn’t seem like valuing maturity.”

“Shut up,” Alexa said, but smiled at the irony. “And no, they don’t and I hope they never do.”

“Look, you should be aware that my aunt can sometimes be a little intense. She means well, though,” Katie said. “Just do as she says and there won’t be a problem.”

“Your aunt seems nice,” Alexa said. “I mean she let me stay here despite not knowing me at all.”

“She’s great, don’t get me wrong, but her diaper policy is serious,” Katie said.

“Wait… she’s not going to… make me wear one to my job… is she?” Alexa asked.

“I don’t know, but if she does, you best not argue. She’s very understanding, but she does not like it when people question her or go back on her. I’ll try to reason with her, but if she does say you need to wear one, then your best choice is to just do so,” Katie said. “Unless you want the risk of being spanked and have your diaper on display…”

Alexa’s eyes widened as Katie looked down at her feet. “Wait… did she…”

Katie nodded. “I cursed her out once because I wanted to go to this party but I didn’t want to have to wear diapers… she grabbed my diaper, yanked it off, and spanked me. She then made me go to the party…. Wearing a diaper and a small shirt. When I got back, she asked me what my friends thought of my diaper…”

“Did you really go?” Alexa asked.

“No,” Katie said. “Are you kidding? I couldn’t go in just a diaper to my friend’s house. That would be… life ending.”

“So then, what did you say?” Alexa said.

“I apologized and said I’ll never talk back again. She hugged me and said verbatim, just remember that this is my house, I decide what happens under it,” Katie said. “Again, she means well, but the last thing you want to do is get on her bad side.”

“Alright,” Alexa said. “I’m done checking my email. So… what do you want to do next?”

“Come on, let’s go watch TV,” Katie said as she pulled Alexa along.

They went down the stairs to the family room and sat down on the couch next to each other while Katie turned on the TV. They watched cartoons while waiting for Nora to return. Without even thinking, the girls snuggled together, wrapping their arms around each other as they watched.
