Unpacks

Heidi moves over to her luggage and begins moving clothes from her suitcase into the dresser. She had decided to bring all of her possessions in Africa with her from the city: she wasn't sure how long they would be and wasn't confident they would be there when they eventually returned.

As she made herself at home, the German girl began humming an old tune from the fatherland. She hoped she was making a difference here, but she was homesick and was starting to look forward to returning to her small alpine village, where there were no mosquitos, no tropical diseases, and no black...

She shook her blonde head in disgust. After all this time, how could she still hold such racist thoughts? She of all people should know that everyone is the same! Why couldn't it become second nature to her?

Just then she noticed that there was a small pack amongst her luggage that she didn't recognize. She went to it and opened it. Inside were magazines and photos... she pulled them out and nearly dropped them from shock!

The magazines and photos all displayed hardcore sex, sometimes between just two partners, sometimes two women on one man, and even two men (or more!) on just one woman! Heidi had never really looked at pornography before. It filled her with embarressment but also wonder. Heidi's mind raced: who owned these photos, and how did they end up with her luggage? Could it be the Africans? What about Duncan, could the old man secretly be a pervert? Or even Heather?

Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Heidi jumped, dropping the magazines onto the floor.
