University professor

You head in to work. You are a professor at the state university in town. You have a class this morning, and then office hours for a little while afterwards. You walk over to the lecture hall first. The lecture you give seems a little dry, even to you, but it doesn't really matter, since this is basically an introductory course, and half of the students routinely skip the class anyway. You really need to find better uses of your time than teaching this particular class - a TA could do it just as well. You are bored almost to tears by the time you finish. You call out the assignment for the next class meeting, and adjourn a few minutes early. As you pack up your briefcase, you try and decide what to do. You have half an hour before your official office hours start. You could head back to your office, and wait there, or maybe chat a bit with one of the attractive departmental secretaries. Or you could go and talk to administration about possibly getting an extra TA or two.
