Uncle Mark and Sam

Kyle took a deep breath and walked into the kitchen to find Uncle Mark and Sam sitting at the table, eating breakfast. They both looked up when Kyle walked in and Uncle Mark's eyes widened, while Sam suppressed a giggle.

"I can explain." Kyle said. "You see, when..."

But Uncle Mark cut him off.

"No need. I don't know what it's like at home, but there's no judgement here. This is supposed to be a fun summer where we get to know each other, so I'm willing to accept you." Uncle Mark said.

"That's nice but you don't understand! The computer!" Kyle started.

"Don't worry about the computer. I'll help you program in preferences that fit, and even help you pick out some of your own stuff, so you're not left wearing your cousins' clothes all summer." Uncle Mark interrupted again.

Suddenly, a ringing sound started and Uncle Mark looked at his phone.

"Whoops! Business call, gotta take this. We can talk later." Uncle Mark rushed out of the room.

Kyle sighed and slumped down into a chair. After Mark was out of earshot, Sam burst out into raucous laughter.

"Ahahahahaha!" Sam laughed. "That was great!"

"Did you do this?" Kyle asked.

"I don't know what you're talking about... Kylie!" Sam laughed again.

"You know that I didn't do this to myself! That stupid computer thought I was Amy and did all this..." Kyle complained.

"Well, you look very pretty... sis!" Sam laughed. "Serves you right for what you did on the plane!"

"That's different! It's not like I did... any of this to you!" Kyle said.

"The question is how you're going to explain it to Uncle Mark. He's pretty accepting of all this stuff. He might not buy you going back on it." Sam said.

"I know..." Kyle sighed.

Kyle started to pick at a plate of eggs and bacon when Uncle Mark returned from his phone call.

"Good news! I just got called in to one of our sites for a business meeting, but I'd be glad to let the two of ya tag along to see NuTech Inc. in action for yourselves." Uncle Mark said. As if noticing Kyle's discomfort, he quickly added. "Unless you aren't comfortable going out in public with me right now... then you two can stay here and explore. There's more than enough stuff to keep you busy and I'd be in and out, no more than a few hours, tops."

Kyle was about to attempt to explain his situation to Uncle Mark again when Sam interjected.

"I think we'll..." Sam started.
