Two Days Later - Still on the Magnum...

You are standing in the middle of the ship while Jane and Hugo are seated in the console chairs.

"OK, mission briefing time. Hugo, thanks for guarding the ship while we were away. Jane has been dealing with our cover story and scored us a high value cargo to transport off the planet after the mission while I've been out scouting the targets."

You bring up a satellite map of the planet on the console screen and highlight a section near the main city.

"Our objective is in a Xena Corporation Genetics lab located in a complex around 50 miles outside of Evindium City limits. The complex is made of two power plants, a research lab hosting a central computer core and a couple of office along with an administrative building."

You zoom in to reveal an aerial view of the complex as you continue.

"From what I saw, the security is tight overall and tightest within the lab." You pause to catch your breath. "The mission is to acquire a data core containing a copy of the lab computer's data. It is supposed to have been hidden in the control room of Reactor One by an inside agent. Getting the core out of the complex with the agent was considered too risky, so it was placed in a less secure area to be extracted. The identity of the agent was not revealed to us and we are to have no contact with them."

You raise your gaze from the screen to look at Jane and Hugo to make sure they are following what you are talking about. After a brief moment, you continue to outline the rest of the mission.

"The crux of our mission is that Reactor One is offline for maintenance, opening a route in through the coolant system pipes located here," you say and point to the screen.

"The customer has supplied us with the maintenance access codes for the sealed gates inside the reactor. The mission will take place during the night shift and needs to end before the day shift comes on. Because of the circumstances, a stealth air evacuation will be necessary. I have chosen this small balcony on the south side of the reactor as the optimal exfiltration point."

You highlight a part of the reactor building.

"I’ll disable the surveillance cameras so they won't see us but you will trigger an alarm when you enter the complex’s no fly zone. Once you pick me up, we’ll fly into one of the commercial lanes and hide amongst the traffic before we drop below radar and make our way across the sand sea.

"Hugo, you’ll be providing fire support in case things get hairy. Get armored up and be ready to take on drones or security personnel. After the exfiltration, you will help guard the data core until we get it off planet. That’s it for the mission briefing. Wheels up in thirty minutes. Hugo, get suited up. Jane, get the weapons out of the cargo bay."
